The service is provided by Co.Tra.L. with suburban lines with Anagnina and main destinations Albano Laziale and Velletri. These lines, however, do not cross the country but travel the state Appia which is located at the base of the hill on which it sits Castel Gandolfo (the reference here is to stop at the intersection with Via Mole); some bus run deviate from the usual route to the village, in other cases it will be necessary to go to Albano Laziale and get back to the line Albano Laziale - Frascati.
Anagnina is terminus of Rome's Metro - Line A.
Castel Gandolfo can be easily reached from both airports in Rome:
- From CIAMPINO (which is less than 10 km away), you can take a Co.Tra.L bus passing on Via Appia: the bus stop is right outside the entrance of the airport
- From Fiumicino (about 50 km away) you can reach Rome by train or bus and from there by train or combination metro + bus
The Castel Gandolfo railway station and Villa station (peripheral zone of the town) are on the RomaTermini - Albano Laziale line.Le stations are within a few hundred meters from the town center (but the road is uphill) and are connected by service of local public transport (Circular B to Castel Gandolfo station and Circular a for Villetta).
The town can be easily reached from Rome along the Via Appia (S.S.7). At km 22,00 (loc. Two Saints) turn left taking the S.P.140 ending directly in the center of town. Via Appia is the easy way out for those coming from south; if so just come from the town of Albano Laziale you will have to turn right on S.P.216 (Lower Maremmana III); in 2 km you reach the town. Coming from the east (via the A24) the fastest route is by the GRA and S.S.7
